No, when the foam end of the swab is inserted, the nasal swab is not sharp, and it should not hurt. Sometimes the swab can feel slightly uncomfortable or tickly. If you feel pain, please stop the test and seek advice from a healthcare provider.
Who can use the Celltrion DiaTrust™ COVID-19 Self-Test Home Kit?
Anyone 14 years and older can use this COVID-19 self-test. The test can also be used on children as young as two years old when samples are collected by an adult.
Will the Celltrion DiaTrust™ test tell me if I have been infected with COVID-19 in the past?
The Celltrion DiaTrust™ COVID-19 Self-Test is an antigen test that only detects an active infection. This test cannot detect past infections.
Does the Celltrion DiaTrust™ COVID-19 Self-Test expire?
Yes, there is an expiration date on every product box. The test should not be used after the date printed on the box. The expiration date currently is November 24, 2022.
Do I need any additional supplies to conduct the Celltrion DiaTrust™ test at home?
Yes, you will need a timer/watch to know when to read the results. We also recommend using gloves during testing.
Does the BinaxNOW COVID-19 test detect new variants?
The Celltrion DiaTrust™ COVID-19 Self-Test is effective at identifying new strains. This test looks for parts of the virus that are crucial for the virus’ survival and therefore less subject to mutation.

Results from the Celltrion DiaTrust™ COVID-19 test become available within 15 minutes after performing the test.
How to Use Celltrion DiaTrust™ COVID-19 At-Home Self Test Kit?
- Using the swab from the kit, insert the entire soft tip of the swab into a nostril.
- Rub the swab against the inside walls of your nostril. Make at least 5 big circles. Do not just spin the swab.
- Using the same swab, repeat steps 1 and 2 in your other nostril. Each nostril must be swabbed for about 15 seconds.
- After performing the test, be sure to wait for at least 15-minutes for your results to become available.
